Putin, Erdogan express intent to continue economic cooperation

MOSCOW/ANKARA, Mar 9 (PRIME) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan have expressed their mutual intent to continue trade and economic cooperation between the countries, the Kremlin said in a statement on March 6.

The two leaders also agreed to continue tight contracts at all levels.

According to Turkish television channel A Haber, Erdogan said that Turkey and Russia could use the Russian ruble in the bilateral trade, as well as the U.S. dollar, the euro, the yuan and gold, during his phone negotiations with Putin.

The channel also reported that Putin would order 30 vessels loaded with sunflower oil and wheat be sent to Turkey.
